A professional assessment helps determine whether mold is present and what conditions are allowing it to grow.
If you are experiencing respiratory or allergy symptoms, it is a good idea to have a professional assessment done. Or, if you know of any water intrusion issues, leaks, shower pan grout cracking, etc., an assessment can help bring peace of mind.
Every part of your property will be inspected for signs of mold growth. All common areas where mold growth happens will be inspected (i.e. showers, under sinks, window sills, mechanical closets, attic, crawlspace, etc.) plus any areas of noted concern. We will take moisture readings as well as thermal camera images to track moisture and identify potential problems.
If any mold is found during an inspection or testing, a proper remediation protocol will be written, following IICRC S520 standards with an estimate based on that protocol.
Yes. If you have any suspicions at all of mold being present, a professional assessment will at minimum bring peace of mind if none is found, or identify the problem and provide a course of action to remove it.
Immediately. Mold exposure is harmful to everyone and should be taken seriously.
Yes. All mold is toxic with varying species being more or less toxic than others. Note, not everyone reacts the same way to mold exposure based on personal biological differences. So, all mold is toxic, but depending on the person, reactions will vary in severity as well as speed of appearing symptoms.
Everyone reacts differently to mold exposure depending on health, genetics, exposure level and length of time, etc. Common signs are respiratory issues, coughing, sneezing, consistent grogginess or weariness. Though more rare, severe symptoms can result in swelling of the brain, blood poisoning, mood swings, etc. If you feel your child has potential toxic mold exposure, consult a physician as soon as possible.
Everyone reacts differently to mold exposure depending on health, genetics, exposure level, and length of time, etc. Common signs are respiratory issues, coughing, sneezing, consistent grogginess, or weariness. Though not as common, exposure in adults can lead to blood poisoning or possible compromised immunity. If you feel you have symptoms of mold exposure, consult a physician as soon as possible.
Beyond internal health signs, if you see signs of moisture intrusion, you can have hidden mold damage in those areas. Mold often begins growing in structural cavities before it is seen on the surface. That is why a professional mold assessment is so important because it will involve looking for moisture intrusions with meters and infrared that the naked eye cannot see.
Yes. Most often, mold is growing well before it is visible, usually inside wall cavities, behind shower tile, under cabinets, etc. A professional mold assessment will look in areas with specialized equipment that otherwise cannot be seen.
If you feel there is a possibility of mold being present, a mold assessment is your first step in determining if anything to worry about is there.
Mold is toxic to everyone. Depending on your personal biology and immune system, it can be more or less toxic, with faster or slower developing symptoms. Babies and young children often have a weaker immune system, so exposure can be very dangerous. If you suspect your child has been exposed to toxic mold, consult a physician as soon as possible.
Mold remediation should be performed only by professionals, under proper containment with the right tools and chemicals. It is not recommended for mold removal to be “DIY”.
Mold needs three things to grow: 1) A food source (cellulose), which is present in every home and building. 2) The right temperature, which so happens to be where we are most comfortable. 3) Moisture. The first two you cannot remove. Moisture, though, you can. The only way to make sure mold doesn’t grow in your home is to ensure no moisture intrusions or leaks, and the humidity in your home stays below 50%.
